Pinch solenoid valves shut off the flow of the medium without turbulence and eliminate dead spaces where the medium can stagnate.
The opening and closing action is achieved with a coil-operated pinching device which squeezes a soft tube inserted through the valve. The tube material is the only one to come into contact with the controlled medium. This feature enables the use of the pinch solenoid valve in sterile medical applications. The maximum operating pressures are in the region of 1 bar but they are directly related to the tubing material type, thickness and the power of the solenoid coil.
